Time to let go

June 27, 2006

(Originally written in 2005)

Slowly brushing my fingers along the water

Your smoothness – like a stone in the ocean.

Your warmth –afternoon rays on my forehead.

You glide across the bay,

while the wooden rocker protects.

An occasional wake and

I hear your tears against the rocks,

An occasional splash.

As you go out to sea,

I reach, knowing you prefer to go it alone (right now).

The sails, the wind, the silence

You know that here are two kinds of stability:

The feeling of silence across the waters,

-so please stay seated.

The second type places you

In rapids and eases you into balance

-so just roll with it, it only gets better.

The lighthouse watches and waits,

Knowing that you will make it to shore.

So, just paddle home, paddle away

Reduce the drag and let the current glide you..

Maybe even safely into my arms.

Let the current tell you,

I will always make sure there is no harm?

Let the current tell you

I will always be there,

whether or not you care.

Early November dreams

November 6, 2005

Two dreams:

– I left my date at home and went around the corner to the package store. Got mugged. They just took my wallet, or so I thought. When I got back home, she noticed that — and I noticed that I had glass sticking out of my leg. I pulled them out. No blood. No pain. We then went to the park and throughout the rest of the dream, I pulled out the glass.

– My brother and I were at the top of the mountain. I glided off first, from 12K feet down to sea level on a gym mat. My little magic carpet. I wasn’t scared of the heights and I perfectly kept my balance. I could see the clouds in the background. When I got to the bottom, I went into a bar down the street. I sat there for a while and I was worried about when my brother would show up.  Eventually,  Stephen showed up. But his carpet didn’t make it as far —  was forced to find the bar on foot. We eventually left the bar, and I walked through the gothic town on foot. The snow was melted and gone. Next to a castle looking structure, I noticed a bunch of old classmates eating and drinking outside. Waiters in white shirts and blue vests were taking care of them. Gillian, Lisa, Jackie and Helen were there. They all gave me big hugs. I asked Lisa if she had a VCR player. She laughed at me. Of course she did. I sat next to Dietch who tol dme how he made his millions.
